Fixing my Dell XPS Laptop

I was trying to upload some files and videos onto my laptop and then all of a sudden it died. I thought that maybe it wasn't plugged in and the battery ran out, but I saw that it was plugged in.... so I pushed the power button--Nada. So then I thought I needed to hold it down, for a good LONG time--Nada.

So then, I closed my laptop, left it like that for an hour or so, and then came back to turn it on--Nada.

This is getting me nowhere.

Then I just left it. I let is sit for a few days and maybe that's what it needed. A vacation. I always feel fresh and renewed after a vacation. So I did just that. Then I turned it on--Nada. I googled what it could maybe be, and saw a horrible video with really bad voice-overs and kind of followed along and then got stuck. So, I decided to make my own video of how I fixed it while simultaneously fixing my laptop and you know what happened? It turned on--WHA-FREAKING-HOOOOO: It worked!!!

So, check out the video below to see how I fixed my dumb laptop.

Also, For Sale: Slightly used laptop in refurbished condition. So I can get a MAC book instead. JK. Or am I?

You will need 3 items to fix your laptop:

  1. A Mini Torx Screwdriver

  2. A Mini Phillips Head Screwdriver (Again, at Home Depot, I got one that cost me less than $2. This is what I got.)

  3. A flat knife, a cheese knife, a stiff card, or anything that's thin and flat that can help pry the two pieces away from each other.
