Low Waste Dental Hygiene

I ran out of toothpaste, and needed a new tube. I rotate my toothpaste brand every time I'm done because I always try to find a more eco friendly option. At first it was just Cruelty Free, then it was trying to find a Palm Oil Free, now it's Plastic Free. I've tried SO MANY, but I just grabbed this little guy at Target when I needed to replenish: Hello Product Tooth Tablets

Can I tell you how great this product is? Not only is it Plastic Free, it actually tastes great, and leaves my mouth minty fresh! Whenever I was trying new products there was always something missing: it had plastic, it was too sweet, kind of bland, didn't leave my mouth feeling fresh, but this knocks all 3 out of the park!

It comes with 60 tabs, so a month's worth of use, or 2.5 weeks if you've got an SO or roomie who shares. It's easy to travel with! Since it's not a liquid or paste, you don't need to worry about a big ol' tube, and it's super compact! No more worries if the tube will explode in your bag.

So, how do you use it? Well, you pop one in your mouth...munch munch crunch, and when it's dissolved, you just start brushing like normal. It's like putting a slightly foaming altoid in your mouth. That's the best description I can give you. Once you start crunching, you'll already feel like your mouth is refreshed!!

Other low waste solutions I've switched over to is my bamboo toothbrush. I used to use a Sonicair toothbrush but didn't like the plastic waste on that, so I switched to a bamboo one when I needed to replace the head. The picture of the mouthwash I have is actually a Healthade Kombucha bottle that I put my Listerine in. I got a costco size Listerine bottle, and I hated how that looked on the bathroom counter, so I poured it in that and now it's so much more prettier. When it's done, I'll probably do the Tablet version that you drop in water. I'll post a link here if I've tried it as an update. As for floss, I still have my wax floss that I need to use up before I replace with a bamboo floss. I am excited that there are eco friendly VEGAN options for floss. Before, it was silk but I can't fathom flossing my teeth with how they acquire silk. It's so sad.

Anyhow, have you tried the tooth tabs? Thoughts? It does take a bit of getting used to from paste... but I like it so far!
